華鳥夢譚シリーズ第3弾のテーマは「仙界」。錦山窯に伝わる不思議な人物の絵柄をアレンジして、新作の蓋付きカップの中に組み込みました。大きなツマミと愛らしい形状の取っ手とのミスマッチが、アンバランスで不思議な雰囲気を醸し出しています。絵柄の主役は仙人。空想の世界を、ある時は軽やかに飛躍し、ある時は怪しく蠢く、どこかユーモラスなこの伝説の人々は、現代に蘇り私達に何を語りかけてくれるのでしょうか。
今回は錦山窯の伝統技法だけではなく、古くから伝わる伝統意匠を多くのアーカイブの中から探し出す作業から始めました。ポップな色彩と確かな伝統技法で描かれた妖しくも愛らしいカップ達は、慌ただしい現代の生活から逃避し絵を読み解く面白さと束の間の気分転換をきっともたらしてくれると思います。

The present theme is SENKAI, the world of mountain hermits. Various patterns of wonderful figures which have been handed down generation to generation in Kinzangama Kiln are arranged and applied in new work lidded cups. The mismatch of big lid knobs and a lovely form of handles give an unbalanced and mysterious atmosphere. The main characters in the patters are mountain hermits. In the imaginative world, they sometimes fly lightly, and sometimes move gropingly. What will these humorous legendary people talk to us, reviving to the present world? This time, the first step was to look for old traditional motifs, not only the traditional techniques of Kinzangama Kiln, from the numerous archives. Unusual but cherish cups with marvelous motifs drawn in pop colors and certain technique let everybody escape from a busy everyday life, bring you the pleasure to understand motifs deeply. That will be a good change of mood for you.
